More than 300 players have been invited to participate in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, the NFL announced Tuesday, with national-championship winning Alabama setting the pace among all the schools with 14 participants.
Alabama, Ohio State (11), Georgia (10) and LSU (10) were the only schools to send double-digit players to the Feb. 27 to March 5 event which is a precursor to the NFL draft on April 26.
Six former University of Wisconsin players will be among the 326 invitees: tight end Troy Fumagalli, inside linebacker Jack Cichy, outside linebacker Garret Dooley, outside linebacker Leon Jacobs, cornerback Nick Nelson and safety Natrell Jamerson.
The list of prospects includes 19 quarterbacks, 32 running backs, 44 receivers, 18 tight ends, 48 offensive linemen, 60 defensive linemen, 45 linebackers, 42 cornerbacks and 27 safeties.
The Southeastern Conference led the way with 70 invitees followed by the ACC (60), Big Ten (50), Pac-12 (45) and Big 12 (29).
