The host Madison La Follette boys basketball team, ranked ninth in The Associated Press’ Division 1 state poll, knocked seventh-ranked Madison Memorial out of its share of the Big Eight Conference lead with a 54-50 victory Saturday afternoon.

Senior Kierre Washington scored 19 points and junior guard Donneil Gray scored 11 of his 12 points after halftime for the Lancers (13-3, 10-3 Big Eight).

Junior Cade Ellingson scored 12 points for the Spartans (14-3, 11-2). Junior Ian Brown and senior Tyshawn Caldwell added 11 points each for the Spartans.

Madison La Follette opened the second half on an 11-3 run to gain a 37-27 advantage.

Madison West 91, Beloit Memorial 58

Purgolders senior Keshawn Justice earned his first career triple-double, leading East (9-6, 7-5) past the host Purple Knights (4-12, 3-9).

Justice produced 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Trayvon Fair led Beloit with 13 points.

Janesville Craig 71, Middleton 55

Jacob Ngobi scored 17 points, making three 3-pointers, and Blake McCann added 15 points as the host Cougars (7-8, 6-7) knocked off the Cardinals (9-8, 7-6).

Davis Roquet scored 20 points, making three 3-pointers, and Brogan Brunker had 12 points for Middleton.

Verona 59, Madison West 51

Senior Grant Kelliher scored 19 points and shot 11-for-13 from the free throw line as the Wildcats (8-7, 6-7) beat the host Regents (2-15, 1-12).

Junior Cliff McCray scored 18 points for West. Junior Tyler Slawek had 12 points and senior Bui Clements had 11 for Verona.
