Storm Murphy, who will be a senior at Middleton, plans to play men’s college basketball at NCAA Division I Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.

Murphy announced he had orally committed to Wofford via Twitter.

The 5-foot-11 guard is a slick ballhandler who averaged 18.4 points per game last season for Middleton, which shared the Big Eight Conference regular-season boys basketball crown with Sun Prairie and Madison Memorial.

Murphy was an honorable mention selection on The Associated Press all-state team. He was a first-team pick in the Big Eight Conference. He was a second-team choice on the Wisconsin State Journal/WisconsinPrepZone.com Large School All-Area boys basketball team.

He made 82 percent of his free throws. He totaled 114 assists, 81 rebounds and 50 steals for Middleton.

Middleton coach Kevin Bavery said Murphy has the highest skill set for ballhandling of any player he has coached.

Janesville Craig's Anhold commits
