Senior guard Phillip Robinson made six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 points Thursday night to propel the host McFarland boys basketball team to a 62-55 victory over Evansville in Rock Valley Conference play.

Senior Hunter Patchin added 14 points for McFarland (12-5, 11-2 Rock Valley).

The Spartans saw an 11-point second-half lead evaporate with eight minutes to play, but Robinson connected on two 3-pointers that put McFarland ahead for good.

The Blue Devils (7-10, 6-7) got 27 points from senior Zach Mielke and 16 from Sulley Geske.

Edgerton 57, Whitewater 52

Senior Jacob Fox scored 16 points and senior Donovan Cone tallied 15 points as the host Crimson Tide (12-4, 9-4 Rock Valley) defeated the Whippets (7-10, 5-8).

Junior Kyle Wille contributed 14 points for Edgerton.

The Crimson Tide trailed by four points with three minutes remaining, but rallied for a tie and then scored the game’s final five points to prevail.

Senior Daniel Fuller notched 16 points and senior Roberto Navejas had 12 for Whitewater.

Walworth Big Foot 63, Jefferson 57

A.J. Courier tallied 17 points and the visiting Chiefs (3-14, 1-12 Rock Valley) earned their first conference victory in a back-and-forth battle with the Eagles (7-10, 4-9).

Zack Peterson scored 15 points and Ben Sukow added 10 points for Jefferson.

Max Hildebrandt and Logan Eischeid notched 13 points apiece for Big Foot.

Monona Grove 62, Westfield 35

Henry Huston scored 12 points and Caden Nelson added 11 points as the host Silver Eagles (15-1), ranked No. 6 in Division 2 by The Associated Press, beat the Pioneers (6-10) in non-conference play.

Monona Grove started the second half on a 21-7 run after struggling against Westfield’s defense in the first half.

Nick Brakebush scored 11 points and Doug Thompson 10 for Westfield.

Baraboo 64, Poynette 62

Mason Peterson scored 20 points as the host Thunderbirds (4-13) built a 14-point halftime lead and held on for a non-conference win over the Pumas (6-9).

Austin Burkhalter made five 3-pointers and totaled 19 points for Baraboo.

Gavin Klosky had 20 points and Garrett Bruchs 18 to lead Poynette.

Oconomowoc 56, Watertown 33

Nate Platter scored 12 points and Cameron Briggs tallied 10 points as the host Raccoons (8-9) beat the Goslings (6-10) in non-conference play.
