Former Whitewater athlete Myriama Smith Traore announced via Twitter this week that she has decided to transfer from the Marquette University women’s basketball team after this semester.

Her destination hasn't been announced. 

Smith Traore, a 6-foot-2 freshman forward, played in 11 games for the Golden Eagles (24-10). She averaged 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per game as a freshman.

She helped lead the Whitewater girls basketball team to the 2015 WIAA Division 3 state title. She also was a first-team all-state selection as a high school player.

Report: Alyssa Lemirande plans to transfer 

Former Middleton athlete Alyssa Lemirande is planning to transfer from Lindenwood-Bellevue of Bellevue, Illinois, to Edgewood College for women’s basketball, according to a WisSports.net report.

As a freshman, Lemirande appeared in 25 games, starting one game, for Lindenwood-Bellevue, which is an NAIA program. She averaged 2.2 points in 6.2 minutes per game, according to team statistics for this past season.

Lemirande is a triplet and her sisters, Bria and Carlee, also were listed in the Lynx’s season statistics.

Bria Lemirande appeared in 31 games, starting 26. She averaged 9.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 27.6 minutes per game. Carlee Lemirande appeared in three games, averaging 1.7 points in 3.3 minutes.
