Fresh off its runaway Badger Challenge victory over Monroe on Saturday, the Beaver Dam girls basketball team held on to the No. 1 spot in The Associated Press' state girls basketball rankings.

The Golden Beavers, 11-2 with no losses to Wisconsin teams, beat the Cheesemakers 69-40 on Saturday. Monroe (13-2) fell one place to No. 4 in the Division 2 state poll. Stoughton earned honorable mention in Division 2.

In Division 1, Sun Prairie (12-1) held on to its No. 6 ranking this week, and was the only area team mentioned in the Division 1 rankings.

Marshall (13-0) climbed two spots to a tie for No. 5 in this week's Division 3 rankings. Madison Edgewood (10-3) slipped one spot to No. 10, and Dodgeville received one vote. Platteville (10-2) was ranked seventh.

Cambridge received honorable mention in Division 4.

Black Hawk (15-0) remained in the No. 1 spot in Division 5, with Bangoir fifth, Fall River eighth, Potosi 10th and Shullsburg receiving honorable mention.
