The Sun Prairie girls basketball team moved up one spot to No. 3 in this week’s Associated Press Division 1 state rankings.

The Cardinals are 14-1 overall for the season and have an 11-0 mark in Big Eight Conference play, good for a 1½-game lead over Madison East (12-4, 10-2). East received honorable mention in this week’s Division 1 poll.

Hartland Arrowhead (15-1) earned the unanimous No. 1 ranking in Division 1.

In Division 2, Badger North Conference leader Beaver Dam (14-2, with both losses to teams outside Wisconsin) maintained the No. 1 ranking. Monroe (15-2), the leader in the Badger South, was ranked second. Stoughton and Jefferson both earned honorable mention.

In Division 3, unbeaten Capitol South Conference leader Marshall (17-0) held on to the No. 4 ranking. Platteville (14-2) moved up one place to No. 6, and previously unranked Dodgeville (16-2) jumped to the No. 9 spot. Defending state champion Madison Edgewood earned honorable mention. Laconia (17-0) was ranked No. 1.

Brookwood and Cambridge earned honorable mention in the Division 4 rankings, led by La Crosse Aquinas (15-0).

In Division 5, unbeaten Black Hawk (18-0) was a unanimous repeat pick for the No. 1 ranking, with Fall River (16-1) climbing three spots to No. 4, Bangor (13-3) moving up one spot to No. 5, and previously unranked Shullsburg (15-2) jumping to the No. 9 spot. Potosi and Randolph earned honorable mention.
