Building a 15-point lead and surviving a late charge, the host Walworth Big Foot girls basketball team handed Jefferson its first loss on Thursday, a 58-52 decision in Rock Valley Conference action.

The Chiefs (11-5 overall, 10-2) held on after the Eagles (13-1, 11-1) cut the margin to five points with 4 minutes, 46 seconds left.

Courtney Schoeenbeck scored 25 points for Big Foot, which has won 15 consecutive home games. Parker Fetherston had 20 points for Jefferson.

McFarland 46, Evansville 32

Senior Katie Rounds tallied 15 points and freshman Katie Hildebrandt had 10 points as the visiting Spartans (10-6, 9-3) defeated the Blue Devils (5-12, 3-10).

Abby Eftemoff scored 14 points and Josey Rinehart added 10 for Evansville.

Whitewater 57, Edgerton 52

Kacie Carollo and Allison Heckert each scored 16 points as the host Whippets (11-5, 9-3) erased a five-point halftime deficit to top the Crimson Tide (4-13, 2-11).

Bethany Oren scored 24 points and Jessica Danks added 17 for Edgerton.

Orfordville Parkview 60, Madison Country Day 12

Taylor Burrell scored 17 points and Amber Hudson added 12 points as the host Vikings (8-9, 7-1 Trailways South) beat the Prairie Hawks (1-14, 0-7).
