Madison Memorial senior Elliott Grays announced via Twitter on Wednesday night he has orally committed to the University of Chicago for football.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Grays was a second-team selection as a wide receiver on the Big Eight all-conference team. He earned honorable-mention recognition as a receiver on the Wisconsin State Journal/ All-Area football team.

He tweeted: “I am proud to announce that I have committed to the University of Chicago to continue my academic and football career. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here!”

Grays also plays basketball for Madison Memorial.

Madison West soccer players make commitments

Madison West seniors Aldon Lumani and Eric Armenta committed to Edgewood College for men’s soccer during a signing ceremony Wednesday, Madison West athletic director Torrance Hill said.

Paolo Gratton signed a National Letter of Intent to play men’s soccer at UW-Milwaukee, Hill said. 

Jefferson's Parker Fetherston reaches milestone 

Jefferson senior Parker Fetherston has surpassed 1,000 points in her high school basketball career. 

She scored 30 points in a victory over Whitewater on Tuesday. Jefferson is leading the Rock Valley Conference. 

Fetherston, who plans to attend UW-Eau Claire, also is a strong competitor in swimming and track and field.
