AMBER ARNOLD, STATE JOURNAL

Madison La Follette senior Gavin Parr has orally committed to play football at UW-Eau Claire.

Parr was recruited as a linebacker by the Blugolds, his father, Tom Parr, said.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Parr, a team captain, was the Lancers’ leading tackler with 110 total tackles. He also had three sacks. He was a second-team all-conference selection as an inside linebacker in the Big Eight Conference. He was Madison Shrine Club All-City selection and was named the Lancers’ defensive MVP for this past season.

Parr, a member of the La Follette chapter of the National Honor Society, plans to study physical therapy at UW-Eau Claire.
