Sun Prairie senior Josh Dinga announced via Twitter that he has orally committed to Illinois State for football.
Illinois State is located in Normal, Illinois, and is an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision program.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Dinga, a defensive end, was a first-team selection on defense on the Wisconsin State Journal/WisconsinPrepZone.com All-Area football team.
Dinga was a first-team choice as a defensive end on the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association all-state team and was an honorable-mention pick on The Associated Press all-state team. He was a first-team pick on the all-Big Eight Conference team. In the WIAA Division 1 state title game against Kimberly, he had four total tackles, 1½ tackles for loss and a ½ sack. He finished this season with 53 total tackles, including 20 tackles for loss and 11½ sacks, and he had one forced fumble and two interceptions, including one interception returned for a score.
Dinga tweeted: “I want to thank my family and friends for the overwhelming support I have had throughout this process. I also want to thank all my coaches who have given me great support as well as teaching me so much throughout my career so far. With that being said, I would like to announce that I will be continuing my football and academic careers at Illinois State University.
