Waunakee junior Joe Guerrera rolled in a 15-foot birdie putt on the par-4 18th hole, winning a one-hole, three-way playoff to claim medalist honors in the Badger North Conference boys golf tournament on Tuesday.

Guerrera shot a 3-over-par 75 at House on the Rock Resort in Spring Green, tying for first place with Baraboo’s Hunter Dersham and Beaver Dam’s Zak Kulka.

On the extra hole, Dersham just missed a 40-foot birdie putt and Kulka also settled for par after struggling to bogeys on the final two regulation holes.

In the team chase, Waunakee had its top four players shoot 80 or better for a team total of 314, one stroke ahead of defending conference tournament champion Reedsburg.

For Reedsburg, Dylan Brown shot 76, Ben Fuhrmann 77 and Will Fuhrmann 78.

Badger South Conference

Matthew Phelan, Madison Edgewood’s No. 4 player, earned medalist honors with a 2-over-par 74 at House on the Rock Resort, leading the Crusaders to a score of 310 and an eight-stroke victory over Oregon in the team race.

Edgewood also got a 77 from Rory Gierhart and a 78 from Karl Gilmore.

Oregon was led by John Klus with a 75 and Ryan Candell with a 77. Watertown’s Alex Thompson shot a 77 and Monona Grove’s Jake Schroeckenthaler shot 79.

South Central Conference

Nekoosa shot 365 at SentryWorld in Stevens Point to finish 25 strokes ahead of runners-up Wisconsin Dells and Adams-Friendship. Wisconsin Dells was led by Will Post with an 89.
