Colin Pulkrabek scored a hat trick Friday night as the Madison West boys hockey team went on a five-goal flurry in the third period to turn a tie score into a 7-2 victory over Beloit Memorial in Big Eight Conference action.

The Regents (2-2, 2-0 Big Eight) also got a goal and three assists from Drake Baldwin.

Beloit Memorial (2-4, 1-4) got first-period goals from Casper Clark and Garrett Peterson.

Waunakee 3, Reedsburg co-op 2

Tyler Hoffman, Kyle Ihrke and Mason Ihrke each scored as the host Warriors (3-3, 1-0 Badger North Conference) held on to beat the Cheavers (2-4, 0-1).

Dane Luebke added a pair of assists for Waunakee. Tarren Gruber and Jacob Ely scored for the Reedsburg co-op.

Sauk Prairie 4, DeForest 2

Camden Desroches scored two second-period goals as the Eagles (6-0, 1-0 Badger North) topped the visiting Norskies (1-3, 0-1).

Sauk Prairie’s Riley Jelinek added a goal and two assists in the victory.

DeForest scored first on a shot by Trent Bachman.

Oregon 11, Monroe 1

Tyson Rohrer recorded a hat-trick as the Panthers (6-1, 2-0 Badger South Conference) beat the visiting Cheesemakers (1-5, 0-1).

Oregon’s Tyler Damon added a goal to go along with four assists. The Panthers got goals from eight players in the win.

Madison Edgewood 8, McFarland 0

Ben Cegelski notched his first shutout victory of the season to lead the visiting Crusaders (4-0-1, 2-0-0 Badger South) past the Spartans (1-4-0, 0-2-0).

Gabe Brown, Jake Schmaltz and Carter Hottmann scored first-period goals to get Edgewood off to a strong start.

Girls hockey

Beloit Memorial co-op 1, Green Bay East co-op 1

The Rock County Fury (6-1-2) played to a tie with the visiting Bay Area Ice Bears (3-1-3).

Fond du Lac/Beaver Dam 6, Onalaska 1

Maike Zipp scored a hat trick to lift the Warbirds (6-0-0) to an easy victory over the Hilltoppers (3-3-0).

Middleton triple dual

Middleton earned a 139-31 victory over Janesville Craig and defeated Beloit Memorial 117-53 in their own pool. Beloit Memorial beat Janesville Craig 126-44 in the Big Eight Conference triple dual.

The Cardinals took first in 10 of 11 events, including a 100-yard freestyle win by Calvin Roberts and a 500 freestyle victory by Andrew Martin.

Verona/Mount Horeb triple dual

Madison West beat host Verona/Mount Horeb 120-50 and Madison East 132-38 in a Big Eight triple dual. Verona/Mount Horeb defeated East 131-39.


Madison La Follette 42, Madison East 31

E.J. Pazdziora (126), Kyle Smith (132) and Dylan Lawringer (145) had three of the host Lancers five pinfall wins as La Follette held off the visiting Purgolders in a Big Eight Conference dual

Waunakee 43, Baraboo 31

The Warriors earned five pinfall victories including at 152 by Colton Grindle and by Zachary Marek at 160 as the host Warriors defeated the Thunderbirds in a Badger North Conference dual.

Reedsburg 54, Mount Horeb 30

Kaiden Otto (106), Caylee Fry (120), Mason McMillen (138), Jake Rose (145) and Brady Fry (182) each won by pin to help the visiting Beavers top the Vikings in a Badger North dual.

Iowa-Grant/Highland 36, Mineral Point 28

Alec Zimmer (120), Max Maylor (160) and Drew Hennessey (285) each earned pinfall victories to help the host Panthers defeat the Pointers in a SWAL dual meet. Riley Workman pinned his opponent at 182 for the visitors.

Girls gymnastics

Waunakee/DeForest 125.85, Monona Grove 120.35

Caylee Powers won the uneven bars and balance beam to earn the all-around title for visiting Waunakee/DeForest. Tatem Capouch won the vault for the Silver Eagles.

Jefferson Invitational

Nina Luebke won the all-around competition and placed second in the balance beam to help Menomonee Falls win the meet. Jefferson’s Audry Wright won the vault and tied for first in the uneven bars, as the hosts took second.
