Sam Loving scored a hat trick and Drake Baldwin delivered five assists on Saturday night to lead the Madison West boys hockey team to a 5-2 victory at Sun Prairie in a battle of Big Eight Conference title challengers.

The Regents (9-3-2, 6-1-0 Big Eight Conference) beat the host Cardinals (12-2, 7-2) for the second time this season — and those are Sun Prairie’s only two losses.

Adam Buencamino made 19 saves for West, which also got goals from Colin Pulkrabek and Felix Jiang.

Benett Halbleib and Kaden Brunson scored for Sun Prairie and Owen Leatherberry had 17 saves.
