Janesville Parker named John Zimmerman as its new athletic director Thursday, according to a Janesville Gazette report.

Zimmerman replaces Joe Dye, the longtime athletic director who retired after last school year.

Zimmerman, who’s been at Parker for 24 years, has had stints coaching boys and girls golf. He was boys golf co-coach with Ron Cramer from 1994-2001 and was head coach from 2012-14 and was head girls golf coach from 1995-2010, according to the Gazette.

Zimmerman also will stay in charge of the DECA program. Zimmerman, instructional manager of the business and marketing department, will continue to teach two business and marketing classes, according to the report.

He is a Dodgeville High School graduate (1989) and University of Wisconsin-Stout graduate (1993).

Dye, a former head coach for football at Parker, is a football assistant for the Vikings' program led by coach Clayton Kreger.
