With a chance to clinch the outright Big Eight conference championship, Madison East let a two-goal lead slip through its hands Tuesday night.

The visiting Purgolders allowed two second-half goals against Madison La Follette and settled for a 2-2 tie.

The tie gave East a 7-0-1 league record heading into its final conference game against second-place Middleton (6-0-2) at Breese Stevens Field on Thursday. A victory or tie will give East the conference title, but Middleton can win the championship if it beats East.
