Madison West senior Lain Weaver has orally committed for men’s swimming at Ohio State, according to a report by swimswam.com and on Twitter by the Badger Aquatics Club.

Weaver was the runner-up in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly at the 2017 WIAA Division 1 boys state swimming and diving meet last winter. He also was part of the Regents’ 200 medley relay that placed second and the 400 free relay that finished third. Madison West was fifth in the team standings.

Weaver swims for the Badger Aquatics Club.

In announcing his decision, Weaver said, according to swimswam.com: “I would like to announce my commitment to The Ohio State University. Bill Dorenkott and the entire coaching staff are true geniuses of the sport, and I can’t wait to be a part of the Buckeye Nation. Ohio State has all the resources for me to succeed in and out of the pool. Go Buckeyes!!!’’
