Middleton senior Caroline “C.J.” Hippen announced on Twitter that she has orally committed to the University of Illinois for women’s swimming.
It also was reported by WISCA.NET (the Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association).
Hippen is a key swimmer on the top-ranked Cardinals’ swimming and diving team this season and also was a key contributor on last year’s team, which won the WIAA Division 1 state title for the first time.
According to the WISCA.NET report, Hippen is a three-year Division 1 state meet qualifier. She finished in sixth place in both the 200 and 100 freestyle races last year at state, moving up from her seeded positions to boost the Cardinals. She also swam on the team's winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays at state. Her 22.85-second split on the 200 freestyle relay was the fastest at the meet, while her :51.14 split in the 400 freestyle relay was fifth-fastest in the meet.
