Middleton senior Michael Draves has orally committed to Indiana University for men’s swimming, according to wisca.net (Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association).

Draves finished second in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 200 freestyle at the 2017 WIAA Division 1 boys swimming and diving meet at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium.

He was part of Middleton teams that finished seventh in the 400 freestyle relay and ninth in the 200 free relay.

At the 2016 state meet, he placed second in the 500 freestyle and seventh in the 200 freestyle. He was part of Middleton teams that finished fifth in the 400 freestyle relay and eighth in the 200 freestyle relay.

Monona Grove senior Ben McDade also recently committed to Indiana for men’s swimming.

Beloit Memorial’s Heaven Wells commits

Beloit Memorial senior Heaven Wells has orally committed to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for women’s swimming, according to wisca.net and a tweet from Beloit Swimming.

Wells finished eighth in the 100 backstroke at the 2016 WIAA Division 1 girls swimming and diving meet.

Beloit Swimming tweeted in part: “1st D1 commitment in a long time. Congratulations, hard work does pay off.”
