Verona's Will Tennison returns a volley Thursday during a singles matches at the 2017 WIAA boys state tennis tournament.

Four area teams landed in the top 10 of the first Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association Division 1 boys tennis rankings of the season, announced Sunday night.

Verona was ranked third, Sun Prairie fourth, Middleton eighth and Madison West ninth in Division 1. Milwaukee Marquette is top-ranked.

In Division 2, Madison Edgewood was ranked sixth. Brookfield Academy was ranked No. 1.

Honorable mention – None.

Division 2
