A high school-college wrestling doubleheader is scheduled for Dec. 7 at the University of Wisconsin Field House.

“The Battle in the Barn” will showcase a dual meet between Stoughton and Milton in high school wrestling, Stoughton athletic director Mel Dow said. After that, the UW wrestling team will take on Maryland on Fan Appreciation Night.

“The Battle in the Barn” begins at 5:30 p.m., with tickets costing $2 and the first 2,000 spectators receiving commemorative tickets for the special event. The UW-Maryland match begins at 8 p.m. (on the Big Ten Network).

There will be a special recognition of the two cornerstones of the Stoughton-Milton rivalry, Dow said: Bev Pieper (sitting in honor of her late husband and legendary Stoughton coach Vern Pieper) and Bob Johnson (longtime coach at Milton who helped shape the rivalry between the two schools).

Advance ticket sales are available at under the tickets tab for the UW-Maryland match. Tickets are available at the door, starting at 4:30 p.m.
