A long stretch of the Southwest Commuter Path will be closed starting Monday so the heavily used path can be repaved.
The Madison Traffic Engineering Division said the path will be closed between South Prospect Avenue and Breese Terrace.
The section will close at 9 a.m. Monday and will reopen at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Two detours, one eastbound the other westbound, will be set up. The detours will have signs directing the commuter path users.
The eastbound detour uses Commonwealth Avenue, Rowley Avenue and Regent Street, while the westbound detour uses Breese Terrace, Monroe Street, Lawn Avenue and Prospect Avenue.
