Rain

There's a good chance for light rain Tuesday night in Madison, a preview of more rain later in the week.

The National Weather Service said rainfall won't amount to much in the overnight hours, and should peter out by daytime Wednesday.

More rain is likely Friday and possibly Saturday.

The day-to-day outlook:

  • Tuesday night: A 90 percent chance of rain, mainly after 11 p.m., low around 41. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
  • Wednesday: An 80 percent chance of rain, mainly before 7 a.m., high near 49. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
  • Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, low around 29. Winds gusting up to 30 mph.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, high near 40.
  • Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, low around 33.
  • Friday: A 60 percent chance of rain, mainly after 1 p.m., high near 47. Winds gusting up to 30 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
  • Friday night: A 90 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1 a.m., low around 37. Up to a quarter-inch of rain is possible.
  • Saturday: A 40 percent chance of rain, mixing with snow after noon, then gradually ending. Temperature falling to around 33 by 3 p.m.
  • Saturday night: Partly cloudy, low around 24.
  • Sunday: Sunny, high near 35.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, low around 26.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny, high near 42.
