Madison is getting a Valentine's Day present of weather on Wednesday, with sunshine and a high near 40 vying with flowers and chocolates.

The National Weather Service said the gift won't last long, since we could see a mix of rain and snow on Thursday and colder temps on Friday.

The day-to-day outlook:

  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high near 39.
  • Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, low around 28.
  • Thursday: A 20 percent chance of rain and snow showers, high near 37.
  • Thursday night: Cloudy, low around 17.
  • Friday: Sunny, high near 21.
  • Friday night: Partly cloudy, low around 8.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 32.
  • Saturday night: Partly cloudy, low around 21.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, high near 39.
  • Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of rain and snow showers, low around 25.
  • Monday: A 50 percent chance of rain and snow showers, high near 35.
