Tasmania has been the new “it” region for Australia for some time now, as the country explores cooler areas to make fine wine. It is an island, so it comes with requisite sea breezes, and its latitude is at 41 degrees south. Given its chilly tendencies, it has been a hotbed for aromatic white and sparkling wines.
I've been looking for a good, crisp bubbly to take to friends' houses, or for those times when it seems that only sparkling -- as it often does -- will quench the palate. This rosé has juicy cherry and mineral flavors that burst on the tongue with each bubbly sip.
