A man suffered non-life threatening injuries in what Madison police called a "targeted" shooting late Tuesday night near Brittingham Park.

A report of shots fired brought officers to the 800 block of West Washington Avenue near Brittingham Park shortly before midnight, according to a police news release.

Arriving officers were directed to a vehicle where they found a 33-year-old man who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A suspect described as an African-American man with a slender build who was wearing dark clothing remains at-large, the release states.
