The UW Board of Regents will welcome two new members this year, and one current Regent was reappointed to the board.
Gov. Scott Walker announced Friday that Cris Peterson and Jason Plante will be the new Regents, and Gerald Whitburn will return for a second term.
Plante is replacing Margaret Farrow, who resigned in December, and Peterson is replacing Tim Higgins, whose seven-year term will end in May.
Peterson, who is from Grantsburg, is owner and chief financial officer of Four Cubs Farm.
She was named the 2004 World Dairy Expo woman of the year, winner of the 2002 Association of Women in Agriculture outstanding woman award and 1997 Wisconsin farm woman of the year award.
Plante is vice president of Market & Johnson, a general contracting firm headquartered in Eau Claire. He is a graduate of UW-Eau Claire.
Whitburn is a Merrill native and has served on the Board of Regents since 2011. He held two Cabinet positions in Wisconsin government: secretary of the Department of Industry, Labor and Human Relations from 1989 to 1991 and secretary of the Department of Health and Social Services from 1991 to 1995.
