They split their regular-season series, but the third meeting between Big Eight powers Madison Memorial and Madison La Follette belonged squarely to the Lancers on Saturday night.

La Follette eliminated the Spartans, last year’s sectional champion, with a 63-40 victory over the visiting Spartans (18-6) in a WIAA Division 1 regional final as part of the Sun Prairie sectional.

The Lancers will meet Sun Prairie at 7 p.m. Thursday at Janesville Parker.

Sophomore Isiah Stewart led the Lancers (19-5) with 15 points, and helped Madison La Follette open a 32-16 halftime lead. Senior Nate Seward added 12 points.

Junior Ian Brown led the Spartans with nine points.

Sun Prairie 72, Kenosha Bradford 53

Sophomore Jalen Johnson finished with 18 points and senior Marlon Ruffin had 15 to lead the Cardinals (23-1), ranked second in the state, past the visiting Red Devils (16-8).

Senior DeMonte Nelson poured in 37 points to lead Bradford.

Waunakee 68, Middleton 63

Senior Mitch Listau went 15-for-15 from the free throw line and finished with 30 points to help the fourth-ranked Warriors (22-2) hold off the visiting Cardinals (13-11).

Mason Steffen added 14 for Waunakee, which has won 14 straight games and advanced to a 7 p.m. Thursday test against Madison East at Middleton.

Middleton’s Joel Ticknor and Brogan Brunker each scored 17.

Madison East 81, Mukwonago 64

Senior Earl Lewis scored 17 of his 25 points in the second half as the host Purgolders (18-6) held off the Indians (17-7) for their 12th consecutive victory.

Keshawn Justice had 17 points and seven rebounds and Anthony Washington tallied 13 for East.

John Reardon and Wesley Juszczak each contributed 11 points for Mukwonago.

Division 2

Stoughton 56, DeForest 53

Senior Max Fernholz sank a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer and finished with 18 points, all from beyond the arc, to lift the host Vikings (16-8) over the Norskies (15-9) in the Oregon sectional.

Senior Brady Schipper tallied 22 points and senior Aidan McGee contributed eight for Stoughton, which will meet Monona Grove at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sun Prairie.

Junior Austin Westra notched 21 points and senior Jarrett Klein added nine for DeForest.

Glendale Nicolet 63, Beaver Dam 41

Sophomore Jamari Sibley tallied 15 points and the Knights (15-9) used a 19-6 second-half scoring run to pull away from the host Golden Beavers (16-8) in the Manitowoc sectional.

Senior Dillon Livingston notched 11 points and senior Connor Cullen scored nine for Beaver Dam.

Division 3

Edgerton 61, Lodi 48

Senior Jacob Fox made five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points as the host Crimson Tide (19-5) beat the Blue Devils (14-10) in the Middleton sectional.

Senior Jackson Kolinski tallied 13 points and senior Canyon Bacon had 11 for Lodi.

Edgerton will meet Platteville at 7 p.m. Thursday at Oregon.

Platteville 57, River Valley 39

Donovan Blevins scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half to propel the host Hillmen (19-5) over the Blackhawks (12-13).

Brett Nachreiner tallied 11 points for River Valley.

Trey Bartels totaled 11 points and Cade Rohrbach added 10 for Platteville.

Wisconsin Dells 60, Altoona 57

Sophomore Brett Hirst blocked a potential game-tying 3-point attempt with seconds to go and the Chiefs (23-1), ranked third in Division 3, held on to defeat the visiting Railroaders (17-8) in the Menomonie sectional.

Senior Tanner Brandt led Wisconsin Dells with 26 points, and senior Alex Weiss scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half.

Wisconsin Dells will meet Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 7 p.m. Thursday at Neillsville.

Senior Mitch Adrian led Altoona with 14 points.

Laconia 59, Watertown Luther Prep 50

Jaylen Mahone notched 25 points, making nine of 10 free throws, and Reed Gunnink scored 16 to lift the host Spartans (17-7) over the Phoenix (15-7) in the Whitefish Bay sectional.

Joe Hirsch totaled 19 points and David Freund added 10 for Luther Prep.

Division 4

Mineral Point 75, Darlington 50

Sophomore Isaac Lindsey scored 26 points, making four 3-pointers, and freshman Brayden Dailey added 24 points as the ninth-ranked Pointers (20-4) took control early and topped the visiting Redbirds (16-8) in the Baraboo sectional.

Mineral Point will meet La Crosse Aquinas (13-12) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richland Center.

For Darlington, Carter Lancaster totaled 12 points and Tanner Evenstad 11.

New Glarus 76, Fond du Lac Springs 73

Senior Cullen Brooks scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half as the top-ranked Glarner Knights (24-0) held on after the Ledgers (14-11) missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Jaden Kreklow added 24 points for New Glarus, which will meet Pardeeville at 7 p.m. Thursday at Oconomowoc.

Mitchell Waechter totaled 23 points and Cade Christensen contributed 21 for Springs.

Pardeeville 68, Markesan 56

Senior Logan Zuhlke scored a career-high 29 points to lead the fifth-ranked Bulldogs (21-3) past the Hornets (16-8).

Nicholas Henke added 15 points and Duncan Fleiner had 13 for Pardeeville.

Markesan’s Drew Bernhagen scored 23 points.

Division 5

Deerfield 65, Rio 55

Noah Gjermo tallied 23 points and Nate Siewert notched 17 as the host Demons (21-4), seventh-ranked in Division 5 by the Associated Press, defeated the tenth-ranked Vikings (18-6).

Tyler Haak added 10 points for Deerfield, which will meet Barneveld at 7 p.m. Thursday at Evansville.

Brandon Rowe totaled 14 points and Ryan Lang added 11 for Rio.

Barneveld 70, Pecatonica 44

Senior Jacob Slaney scored 18 points and Kauy Fargo 17 to lead the Golden Eagles (17-8) over the host Vikings (17-8).

Junior Everett Johnson led Pecatonica with 13 points.
