A beautiful Wednesday should be followed by a beautiful Thursday in Madison, but we are in for a long, hot weekend after that.

The National Weather Service is looking at highs in the low 90s Saturday and Sunday, while other weather outlets are forecasting highs in the mid- to upper 90s.

No heat index advisories or warning have been issued, but stay abreast of forecasts as we get closer to the weekend.

  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, high near 78.
  • Thursday night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., low around 62.
  • Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., high near 84.
  • Friday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, low around 70.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 91.
  • Saturday night: Partly cloudy, low around 72.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, high near 91.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, low around 73.
  • Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly sunny, high near 86.
  • Monday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, low around 63.
  • Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, high near 76.
